FYI Shadowserver is reporting pushdo botnet is attacking many sites, including garage.maemo.org .

could still be holding a grudge because he felt "had" by the N8x0 "webcam" and all its usefull applications......

It seems they are not really making a DDoS attack, but try to hack some sites ...

List includes a number of sites, maybe to hide which they are really trying to hack.

I think Wiener has the right idea. Distributed attacks like this being used to disguise the site they're really after is not all that uncommon. It's bait and switch, botnet style. Or diversion through swarming. It's not the first time this has been done and it's quite effective as it spreads out efforts to stop them, allowing them easier access into the site(s) of choice.
