Hi guys

I cant get to have my onscreen keyboard on my nokia n900 to work at all.

i have checked the text input setting, the use virtual keyboard option is checked, but no matter how many times i tap a text input field with my finger or stylus, i cant get the on screen keyboard to appear.

so im forced to use the physical keyboard only..

im on vodafone ireland and got this phone thru their contract

Did you close your physical keyboard?

Same problem here. My virtual keyboard just quit working. It is enabled in the settings . I even disabled and re-enabled it and restarted a few times as well but still doesn't work. Yes, the hardware keyboard is closed when I try to use it.

Any ideas?

Mine also is not working but I think it's because I have SCIM installed (Google pinyin input)

Make sure its activated in settings.

Then reboot, that fixed my problem.

Yeah, you need to make sure it's turned on by ticking the box in the settings and the physical keyboard also needs to be shut. Though even then, it has still has petulant moments when it refuses to acknowledge me. It reminds me a lot of my ex-girlfriend. I had to tap her repeatedly and randomly with a plastic stylus to try and get a response too.

I also had the same problem after downloading various apps from the extras and devel repos, so i am fairly sure why this has happened to you too.

So either uninstall the app you installed before the vkeyboard stopped working or flash your device to get back the original settings and app list.

I keep regular backups and always install 1 app at a time, so i can keep track of any possible bugs.
