Hello

Ive been using the N900 for a long time now

One thing really really annoys me as a Left Handed person

Whenever i hover my "LEFT" hand over the light/proximity sensor the brightness of the screen is changed automatically which is distracting and annoying...

I found some threads about disabling the proximity sensor for phone calls

But what i need is a way to stop the sensor from changing the BRIGHTNESS

So if anyone knows a way to do that, Can you please help me and other Left-Handed N900 users?!!

Thank you

Im right handed and the light sensor annoys me too.

When using both hands, I hold the N900 in my left hand and tend to cover the sensor with my thumb!

Not seen anything about disabling the sensor on here yet

i'm right handed and i used both hands to type and hover the screen. i have absolutely no problem with the light sensor or approximity sensor at all. Place your index fingers on the sides of the device would fix the problem. Also low down your brightness help too. i use two bars.

Hahah So this is why my screen keeps getting brighter and dimming all the time? I'm also left handed and just thought it was the phone being ******ed and not knowing what brightness it should be at. This theory would totally explain it. I'll have watch for it again and see if it has to do with my left hand.

oh... as you can see on the site i posted... the package is available in extras repository
so just open up the app-manager, search for it and install it
then it's available in your desktop bar when you click on it ^^

Unless I've missed something that app doesn't control the proximaty sensor, it just provides a quick (and nice) means of adjusting the brightness.

I use it and love it.
