I'm still thinking with myself how much secure are the informations stored in N900?

A lot of my important passwords are stored in my N900, like IM, Social Network, Emails, etc.

How these informations are stored? Plain Text? Encrypted? What algorithm they use to encrypt?

I have a very nice and powerful device, but in case of fall into wrong hands how can I preserve my important data secured?

It's very important to think about it, mainly if you use your N900 as a tool to enhance your work, like me.

A part of my life can be stored on this device, so I need to ensure that my important information can still secured in case of lost/theft.

Connection to email servers are encrypted?

In case of emails. Just use your pop/imap/smtp secure connection, so you can use safely in any wi-fi open zone.

There are two points that I will check:

1- password will be stored in secure way?
2- the connection used to access this specific server is secured?

No, there is no platform support for such a thing and all apps store them in plaintext in GConf or text files.

It is if you use SSL/TSL, or a challenge-response authentication mechanism.
