Hey guys,

Me and a friend are setting up a business and we are looking at open source alternatives for all of our software needs. Mostly because we'll be a bit cash strapped but also because we like the idea of being able to contribute and have more control over our specific solution later on.

So far we've more or less decided to go with thunderbird with lightning as long as we can access each others calendars and edit. Then of course google docs etc.

Does anyone have any other suggestions of good software to use?

Also looking a bit at http://www.opencrx.org, has anyone here ever used it?

Thanks,
Freddie

If you want to easily share calendars you could give a look at http://www.scalableogo.org (though it may be overkill for just two people). Bonus point is that with funambol you can sync the calendar with many phones.
Another apparently good ERP solution seems to be http://openerp.com, though I'm not experienced with it (just evaluating it). Again, it may be overkill for just two people.

Thanks for the tip! Although some of the software is obviously overkill for a 2 person business, opencrx is extremely complex for instance, the idea is to have the infrastructure in place for a possible expansion. Or if not in place then at least readily available.

Once again, thanks a million for the tips!
