If I create good/interesting applications and sell its by ovi store can I transform this in a good job?

For the N900 or Symbian? Currently there's no chance with the N900 as Nokia seem unable to figure out how to actually sell applications. For Symbian it should be possible, but you'd be better talking to people/companies currently selling on there (or to Nokia themselves) to get an idea of sales levels.

  • ovi is still confused , but you could still sell it here on maemo, I dont think anything prevents you from that except the trust of the user.
  • having a demo or a time bound limited version of your product would be a good idea so people can try it before taking the plunge to purchase it.
  • giving a fully working version to our QA would ensure its fully tested and reaches the extras repository which might increase your sales.
  • ensuring you provide active support for current products on a regular basis will be a good idea for future products.

QT is cross platform, it will run on symbian/maemo/windows ce as well. Use it to your advantage .

Although i'm not an OVI fan, i think it should work.
And as krk969 said, QT is your best advantage.
Hope to see your apps soon!

Just remember to implement a method to activate the program (IMEI in a database for example), Joikuspot haven't thought that far and the deb file can easily be extracted and distributed.

*Please don't PM me asking for the deb

If you want to sell Qt applications for Symbian through Ovi, there was a tutorial on Bossa Conference explaining the process.

No idea whether the process for selling Maemo 5 apps through Ovi will be similar.
