Search for news, weather, translations, reviews, movies, wikipedia entries and more.

This app performs simple searches against several web apis like Yahoo YQL and Google API. It's a GTK-frontend for "buddy as a service", a jabber/wave robot I wrote some time ago. Look here for more info: http://mborho.github.com/baas/

The app is available in Extras

It' released under GNU General Public License V3
and its source code can be found at http://github.com/mborho/ask-ziggy

Currently implemented features:
- yahoo web/news search via YQL
- google news/web search
- delicious bookmark search via YQL
- translations via gtranslate api
- weather forecasts via google weather api
- wikipedia, imdb and metacritic searches implemented via google ajax api
- recallable history for every service

Planned features:
- openening connection dialog when no network connection was found
- porting perhaps to pyqt
- more service (twitter search, etc ?)

A recallable history for every service was added and single services can now be disabled/enabled.

The list on the start screen is now sortable (Version >= 0.2.4 in extras-devel)

A new version is in Extras-Testing:

Changes since the version in Extras (0.2.0-1):
* services on the start view are now sortable
* more details about search hits. Old behaviour can be restored via "Settings"
* for some services a default language can be set
* history length can be set in "Settings"
* more minor tweaks and bugfixes

New version in extras-devel (0.3.2-1) can load more search results.
Up to 80, dependent of service.

load more results . . .

A new version is now in Extras-testing and is waiting for thumbs

http://maemo.org/packages/package_instance/view/fremantle_extras-testing_free_armel/ask-ziggy/0.3.4-1/

CTRL-C for copying translated text will be added and a new version will come to Extras-Testing

Changes:
- more search result hits can be loaded, up to 80
- more robust handling of timeouts
- default target language for translations can be set

it would bee cool if i could copy and pasty from the translation part would really love that .
