it bugs me a lil bit that the icons are kinda blocking the background. i would like the existing icons still being there without taking so much space of the screen. any thoughts??? thx

Is there a way to remove the background shade in the top left corner of desktop where the time, battery stuff are shown ?
This might help ... Idk about making them smaller tho

the icon backgrounds are in user/share/themes, just add the number 1 to their file name to disable them

you can also swap them around with other themes if you see a better background in another theme, with out having to apply the other full theme

How about the frame around an internet thumbnail?

I found the images in
Code:
\home\user\.bookmarks\home-thumbnails
...and can create custom ones (simple icons) on a transparent background.

I would also like to remove the frame around them.

Modified D-THEME Blue with background from D-THEME night. Modified OMWeather widget images.

That looks pretty good Grant. Mind sharing how you're able to change the background of the icons to just translucent squares? And what how did you modified OMWeather to have it be so clear? I love OMWeather but it's blocking off like half of the background

I just used Photoshop to edit the existing images in the theme's image directory:
/usr/share/themes/YOURTHEME/images/ApplicationShortcutApplet.png
and
ContactsAppletFrame.png

Images for OMWeather are in:
/usr/share/omweather/images

Attached are the 6 images used on the pictured desktops. The 4 included OMWeather images make the 3 and 7 day horizontal views transparent.
Attached Files
File Type: zip clearframes1.zip (18.1 KB, 139 views)
