New guy here, Hi.
I'm so close to purchasing the N800. It's been in 'my cart' at Jr.com; I just have not clicked the 'buy' button yet.
I have been comparing the N800 to the Archos 604 WiFi.
I have read the reviews and watched the video demonstrations on youtube.
It "seems" that the N800 is better for Internet surfing, and that is all I need it for.

A Sirius 'player' would be so great for the N800.
My Dell Axim X5 can connect to the Internet(wifi) and stream Sirius.

Has anyone tried this Sirius player with the N800?

It works with Opera, just not sure if N800 Opera.

Thanks for now!

What's on that page seems to be executable programs for Windows x86, all of them. Won't work on the N800, which is neither Windows nor x86.

what is the browser on the Archos ? I couldn't see that anywhere. It just says it can surf the internet.

The JR.com description of the 604 says, Archos-specific version of the Opera Browser.
So does that mean that Archos has "tweaked" Opera?

the n800 uses opera also

Opera 8 and can do Flash 7

I guess it is up to you and what you want to use the new toy for the most.

I also looked at the Archos. The problem is that the screen is low resolution. I also have a Toshiba e805 with a VGA 4 inch screen. For surfing the web, the N800 beats it hands down - the higher resolution the better. However, I think they are 2 different devices built for different purposes altogether.

Although I have to say that I might consider the Toshiba EM One when it comes out because I really like the idea of the slide out keyboard!

Thanks for the insight so far. It really looks like I'll purchase the N800 this weekend.
I just wish that there was a walk-in store around here to get it immediately! I'll look, you know that.

While using the N800 surfing the Internet, can you listen to mp3's?

I think so. You can certainly listen to streaming audio while surfing.

If you mean "can it mulit-task" the answer is definately yes - the N800 is bascially a Linux computer and can run multiple applications concurrently.

Well, I'm no longer a possible N800 owner, purchased last night online: just waiting for shipping!!!!!!
Can't wait to turn it on!

I have been reading about how to install 'Canola', at this moment I really do not understand; alot of terminology confusing to me.
Maybe once I get the unit it will be easier to grasp.

So excited.
