It seems to me that the excitement that was due to Mer on this site has now gone to Nitdroid, which is allowing people with N800s and N810s to have a little fun, and N900s as well. It's another round of excitement for tablet owners.

Mer is now an inactive project, due to the introduction of the MeeGo (http://www.meego.com) project which shares a similar mission as Mer. Mer was a community research project into an open and openly developed Maemo platform.

Yes. Where did I say otherwise? Nitdroid is generating the excitement that I would have preferred to put into Mer, if it hadn't gone under.
