Hi,
My N900 started playing up with the WiFi yesterday, it would not update my emails over WiFi and the web browser was taking a long time to decide to connect.

I fixed it by turning WiFi power saving off, leading me to believe that for some reason the connection was going to sleep but never waking up. The only thing different between yesterday and any other day is that I moved provider to O2, but I don't see that affecting it.

Just a few questions:

1. Has anyone else encountered this?

2. Does turning off power saving actually reduce the battery that much/should I use intermediate? As in, does it just put the connection to sleep sometimes or does it actually affect your power consumption while using WiFi? My assumption was that power saving off and power saving maximum would use the same amount of power if you were constantly browsing anyway, they just have different behaviour when idle.

3. Would it be best just to leave power saving set to "off" but to install AutoDisconnect? This way the WiFi connection won't stay connected while sleeping and it should save my battery somewhat.

Just a quick note: I've had the phone since December 2009, and I have only just encountered this issue after switching to O2 which should have no bearing on my WiFi connection whatsoever, just figured it was worth mentioning because that's the only thing different to any other day.

Thanks for your help
