I have a differnt problem with regards to installing preenv on my n900. when I enter apt-install preenv on x terminial it says, "unable to acess folder 13 permisions denied"

I got a different problem too but i enabled extras, devel and testing catalogues in app manager, closed app manager and xterm, tried again and it worked

as root.
EDIT: Those packages have nothing to do with preenv, they just block the installation by being broken and annoying.

by using x-term type
sudo gainroot....
then
preenv...
you will see that preenv is already install on your n900...
if you want to fix the installing error use filebox n go to...
/var/lib/dpkg/info/account-plugin-salut.postinst
edit this line by adding # on...
/etc/init.d/avahi-daemon start
to....
# /etc/init.d/avahi-daemon start
this will fixed all error installing....
