The Fm transmitter on the N900 is great, work great while I'm driving, but the problem is that stupid radio stations constantly interfere!!!!!!!

Would it be possible to transmit the FM as a DAB/DAB+ signal instead??

Crystal clear quality!!!! Would this be possible?

Any Linux gurus out there?

I think you have answered your own question?
It would require a digital transmitter, the current one is analogue or whatever tech it is... so i would assume not (Allways happy for someone to prove me wrong on these things though).

Therefore, my first thought would be no, it is not possible..

It is just like a transmitter - if we can send audio over FM it surely we could put some software between it to encode it as DAB and then transmit it?

Also - DAB ariels and non-DAB ariels are the same, so I don't think ti's a limitation of the transmitter - the chip maybe a limitation. But we may be able to bypass that by using either the DSP or CPU to do the encoding.

Well the best info i can find on the chip is here - http://www.mjmwired.net/kernel/Docum...nux/si4713.txt

Good luck, as i agree it could be cool, but really dont understand the differences enough
