I wrote the image of MeeGo onto my 2GB MicroSD and i once flashed with a
sudo flasher-3.5 -l -k <kernel> -b
and found it was working fine.. Then reverted back to Maemo.

First I was using bootmenu. Now i removed it and installed MultiBoot and the very next reboot made me stuck

I cant find any kernel listed down,(not even the native maemo OS kernel)

I cant make any selection,so the device again turns off.

If i try pressing '0', this again tells me,

'Can't flash kernel, required files not found.

Am dumbstruck!!!

Need to boot into maemo, without having to goto a desktop!!! possible????

Yeah,i tried the wiki, but its down now.. And i can just reflash the kernel+bootloader instead of reflashing firmware or rootfs!!??

I am eager to know what is the problem actually, why is my maemo kernel not shown up on the list.

Thank you flipalong.

type in
flasher-3.5 -F <firmware-image> --flash-only=kernel -f -R
into maemo flasher

but you have to have the maemo firmware image in the flasher and the n900 connected and everything.

i had the same error when i installed nitdroid and the maemo power kernel at the same time. i still dont know what the cause was

and also flashing the kernel will erase multiboot. im not sure what itll do to meego, but maemo will stay the same.

if you flash just the kernel, u keep all ur apps and ur settings and everything.
if u do a normal reflash then u lose apps and lose settings but keep ur personal files (music, pics, vids etc.)
if you do a reflash and emmc reflash, u lose everything

multiboot is tied to /sbin/preinit, flashing the kernel will not remove multiboot
Code:
flasher-3.5 -k zImage -l --boot="init=/sbin/preinit_orig ubi.mtd=rootfs root=ubi0:rootfs rootfstype=ubifs rootflags=bulk_read,no_chk_data_crc rw console=ttyMTD,log console=tty0 snd-soc-rx51.hp_lim=42 snd-soc-tlv320aic3x.hp_dac_lim=6"
should override multiboot.

Or just press 0.

I dunno about the flash code you gave but pressing 0 didn't work for him (He really did something weird I guess...)

Explanation for the flasher code then;
You're loading the stock kernel image, which you can find easily on the internet, the booting it with a modified CMDLINE (kernel parameters), they're all the same actually, only init= is using the backed up preinit.

A way to get the zImage,
Download http://repository.maemo.org/pool/mae...+0m5_armel.deb
Unpack it, then unpack the .fiasco with flasher-3.5 -F .fiasco file -u

Or here: http://mohammadag.xceleo.org/public/...ls/zImage-pr13
