Ok, I'm not that clueless. But really, is Nitdroid just Android on the N900? Or some sort of fusion of the two? And how well does it work? What are the benefits of "running Android" on my N900? Can I still use my N900 as a phone, w my current carrier? Is Nitdroid just some big technical "because we can" accomplishment, or does it have a larger and nore practical purpose? Thanks for the help in understanding.

I'm sorry, but I don't see that the thread you've linked is in any way a primer, which is what I'm looking for. It seems to be, rather, 143 pages of quite technical conversation. Even the Nitdroid wiki doesn't answer any basic questions, it just puts all of the technical data out there, presumably for those who have already installed. So, if you can't truly help, than please save your time. Maybe you can "LMGTFY" it for me next time, and be even more useless, hm?

This isn't really the case, since the phone portion is still not working on android yet.

It's basically a way to dual boot maemo and Android on the n900. You can try the Android OS and use it's apps without having to buy a new phone.

This "Nitdroid" is a project to port android to the Nokia N900.
To find out uses of android, do research. Everything runs well and is pretty useful and amazing, really. The phone functions are being worked on, and i have heard that it will be fixed in a short amount of time. Android 2.3 Gingerbread is the now the main port and is being rapidly worked on. Next time, do some research i persume you are not a clueless baby since you already have a n900

So it's pretty much about the apps, then? That's what it would seem.

Yes. I think its the apps. From what I've heard, it will be stable this summer. I'm looking forward to using the qq app. Once its stable, I'll download it and give it a try.

There used to be some battery issues if I remember correctly. I thought they were fixed - It might be something else. I'd recommend a reinstall of nitdroid, though, to be safe.
