Was it face down? Could be a bad motion sensor? If you flip the phone over onto it's face it will snooze/stop alarms. Maybe yours gets confused by it's own vibration and thinks you've signaled to turn it off? Just a guess.

I've been facing the same issue. It used to work just fine all this time and i rely only on my mobile alarm to wake up. I can't hear it anymoreand i end up waking up late.
Funny enough (or not) I put the phone next to my pillow last night instead of the side desk and when i woke up this morning it was ON the side desk. Time to call the ghostbusters?
