hey guys

I just had the "xorg 100% cpu usage" problem with advanced-power-monitor, the question is, is advanced-power-monitor a needed app? I seem to remeber when I last uninstalled it, my battery icon disapeared?

How does maemo get info about battery state etc?

Thanks for help

Advanced power monitor is not a needed app.

It's not a needed app. It's pretty nice, though the developer had his N900 sink in some water somewhere and hasn't come back on afterwards that often.

However, I'm pretty sure the 100% Xorg bug can be fixed in other ways than uninstalling - although, I don't remember/know those off the top of my head, so perhaps simply uninstalling it is a good idea. Depending on how glitchy the post-int is, your icon MAY disappear, but if it does post back here and I'll do by best to guide you on how to fix it.

cheers.

I uninstalled it last night then restarted, all seems fine and the cpu usage is back to how it should be.

I can confirm that this application consume an incredible amount of battery (which is ironic). It shouldn't have been promoted to extras.

Otherwise it's useful and nice.
