I just noticed a new app in extras-devel- QWP. I haven't seen any threads here about it, so i am starting one now.

Its a client for wikipedia. I really wanted an app like this, as it speeds up browsing wikipedia and i spend quite a bit of my time in the wiki. Very useful for me.

So, I humbly ask the developer to show up, so that I can thank him and request for some small improvements.

I have all lot of ideas for qwp.... login wikipedia, watchlist view, recentchanges view and... admin tools (revert..)...
But I have a huge lack of time too ...
so the alpha version can stay in this state for a time...

Thank man, this was a much needed app for. As for now, I just want a feature to increase text size. Its really needed. The rest is good. Also, the three buttons on the right, can they be hidden or less obstrusive?

Hmm, i dunno why but qwp suddenly dissappeared from my phone 2 days ago. Now when I tried installing it again using apt-get install qwp, I am getting error that the package is referenced by other packages but could not be found. Eackage has no installation candidate.

Then I tried installing from maemo.org, but it came up with missing packages error. Also I noticed that the time shown is 2011-03-06 04:52 UTC. Is this an error?

I am now trying to install mscp and then qwp.

Manually installed mscp and then installed qwp. APT-GET did not work, I dunno why.

Any, the larger text is much better. Also I think the scolling seems a lot smoother. Thanks!


A few more bugs/feature requests:
The text selection is buggy and inconsistent. Can we have something like text selection s enabled only on double tap or something?
Also, a better starting page is required. Nothing fancy, maybe the day's featured article/in the news section, etc?
Also, for me, the text is perfect now, but can we have an option for resizing text sizes as per user requirement?

Nice app. I like the style of the animated dialog boxes/popups etc - totally unnecessary but really helps give that polished feeling.

Only enhancement I'd like is change text size with the volume button.
