I have pr1.3 I dont know if that make a diffirence .
my camera doesnt take pictures !! . . . when i press the shutter it makes the autofocus but doesnt take the picture after the full press
does anyone know how to fix this ?!!? I REALY need my camera

try a restart. remove battery the whole works
u mite also have some apps that are conflicting with the camera like fcaamera or some thing

any chance ur memory read only

I installed fcamera to see if it fixes the prob but it didn't .... tried restarting
and i formated the internal memory and added external mmc that is not ready only just in case and still it would just do the autofucos and when I press the shutter it doesnt take the photo !!

Right, what you are describing sounds more like a hardware failure to me. Can you test by going back to the desktop and then pressing the camera key as though you were taking a photo - I mean to the maximum throw, don't worry about the focus press, just give it some beans. Does it launch the camera app?

If not, then there's something meaning that the maximum throw condition of the switch isn't being recognised - hardware failure most likely.

Yeah I tried it and it launches the camera app !! and it does launch ... so what else could it be ??

I did reflash with nokia siute and didnt fix it :S !!

Does the application close when you "take" the photo with an "Operation Failed" pop-up dialogue? Or does it simply fail to take the picture?

Surely it's worth the time to try and diagnose the problem before reflashing, else you might just waste hours of time for nothing.

You must be a Windoze user, LTman...?

@Switch_ first of all thx for your effort on helping me and also the other members

now the problem is that my camera just doesnt take the picture ! the camera app doesnt crash nor shows me Operation failed ... I mean the camera is fine i can see and do autofocus and then nothing !
