I put in a request 2 days ago, received the invite yesterday morning.
I just need to figure out how to set the package manager icon then I can upload it to extras-devel.

My n900 now is reboot looping so reflash it is (CSSU related) but before that happened I tested the save load. This may be peculiar to my n900... No file gets saved in /opt/smartcam_m5/bin when used from the hildon desktop. And none when I tried from the CLI until I ran as root when the prog created smartcam_m5.conf in the folder from where I ran it. Subsequent CLI runs as user worked, using the same conf file. Made no difference to running from the desktop.

Anyhow if no one else has this, the issue is moot.

Off to reflash (sigh!)

Bad luck, hope it doesnt happen to me anytime soon.
Ive just spent the last few hours ssh'd to my debian laptop with x forwarding. Posting this from firefox over ssh, its pretty awesome.

Which somehow led me to wonder, the linux smartcam server- I wonder if it would run under easy debian?

As it turns out I saved my install BUT, having purged smartcam and then reinstalled, I still cannot save and load.

Does this work for anyone other than azkay ? I really want to know that I am a vast minority.....

Are you running as root. A quick strace of the app reveals that when you hit save it tries to open the conf file and gets a permission denied. However the error is not caught and returns a successful.

An easy way around this is go open an xterm

cd /opt/smartcam_m5/bin
touch smartcam_m5.conf
chmod 777 smartcam_m5.conf

As far as I can tell im not running as root.
Yeah, I didnt do any error checking I just had it cout when it shouldve written the file so I knew what was happening. I probably shouldve changed that.
