Much obliged for the help! Have you released v4.2 for N900 yet? I only see it for N9(50) upthread. I can not get these settings to work with v4.1 on N900.

Hi orava, I would like to have option to see last known position when gps connection is disabled. I usually disable gps after the fix in order to save battery while in the woods. This would enable me to pan the map and still see my position easily. Any possibilities?

Updated Mapsi from v. 4.13 to 4.2 on N9.

After this, the layer options were diminished to FI-Maastokartta, -Taustakartta, -Yleiskartta, OSM Cycle Map and OSM Mapnik only.

On the scales, peruskartta is no longer available and 1:50000 is the smallest scale. On the upper end the largest available scale is 1:500000 and the map does not zoom above the basic resolution.

I tried to use the old wms_settings.ini (by changing the name to server_settings.ini) but this did not help.

What could be wrong in the settings? Below is the output from the log-file:

v4.3.0 for N900 is available here.

Installation
1. Make sure you have latest Qt Mobility 1.2 libraries installed. If you have extras-devel repository enabled you can install those with "apt-get install libqtm-12=1:1.2.0+git20111104-0nd~fremantle5" or if you don't you can download libraries from here (and install with "dpkg -i libqtm-12_1.2.0+git20111104-0nd~fremantle5_armel.deb").
2. Download .deb file from the link above and install it.

Info for existing users
Map tile database format has changed so all the map tiles needs to be redownloaded. Also server settings file's filename has changed from wms_settings.ini to server_settings.ini, so you'll need to rename that file (and it might be that all old setting files won't work anymore).

FI-Maastokartta ja FI-Taustakartta maps uses Maanmittauslaitos's WMTS server and unfortunately that don't offer better scales.

You can try downloading settings from here (and rename wms_settings.ini to server_settings.ini) and see if those work.

V4.3.0 is now released for N900 and those setting files should work with it.

What a pity there is no proper vector topomap application for maemo/meego. At http://kartat.hylly.org you can find top quality topomaps of Finland in Garmin IMG -format. The full image is 1.3GB making offline mapping possible.

Onko niin että noita merimerkkejä ja syvyyskäyriä ei saa edes maksuavastaan Liikennevirastolta?

Lähinnä ajattelen jos ne voisi sisällyttää Mapsiin nyt kun se on kaupallisessa jakelussa.

En usko että muutakautta ne koskaan tulee N9 käyttäjien saataville.
