I got a problem with databases that I do not know how to solve in the best possible way. What I need to do is having a server that contains quite a bit of information and many pictures and maybe even short movie clips. If I would not store the info and pictures on the device it would easily become to much info to download each time I start the program. So what I need to do is store all this localy and when I start the program it should compare the local database with the servers and if something is missing, download it.

How should I do this?
