Anyone know what standard wifi connection N800 can achieve and if it will be possible to flash to new N standard as and when agreed?
Also is there an app available for N800 that allows you to view transfer speeds.

802.11n requires 802.11n hardware, I don't think the 800 has it. I can get right around 465.18K/s from the command line downloading a rather large picture off my server.

I hope the N800 has better N-support then the 770, some N routers, such as the Apple series, make the 770 go blind to wifi entirely.

Make sure you're running the latest firmware on the Apple - quite a number of 11n firmware has bugs which trip up the internet tablets.

Plus the routers I've used needed to be run in mixed mode.

Personally I wouldn't use an Apple base station. Which is kinda funny considering I make a living fixing Macs every day. I've never had a problem with Linksys equipment at home. Though I do have two of the express base stations, they have wifi turned off and are just running as remote speakers for the house. I'm also not too fond of testing 802.11n till it's ratified and certified. I don't see the point of using hardware that may or may not be able to be updated whenever they do finally agree on the standard. Forty something meg to the 770 and 800 is plenty fast enough. If I need something faster to any of the other 12 computers on my network, the whole house is wired for gigabit.
