Ok,Ok I should have said Root Console, option t.
Still doesn't work for me. I get the "Terminal Readme" screen, press any key & the screen then goes blank.

Don't think so, I mean option t on Bootmenu. 'Root Console' Don't know how much clearer I can make this.

@macey:
Sorry, but BootMenu does not have any "Root Console" option. Only USB Mass Storage and USB network mode. (Shift and Ctrl key). Other scripts/systems can be added with additional bootmenu item files. One is "Recovery Mode" from this thread: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=72726
It is it not "Recovery Mode" I do not know what you mean. Better post screenshot of your Root Console option.

Pali,

I am facing reboots in bootmenu (1.12).

Characteristics:
- Choose nothing and a reboot occurs in about 20 seconds (so before the 30 seconds countdown)
- Choose usb mass storage or usb networking and the reboot will also happen in about 20 seconds

After that reboot, the rolling dots appear for about 2 seconds and then the phone is switched off.

If I choose start maemo KP50 from nand or start with keyboard closed, that works without problems.

I can use backupmenu for usb connections, but I am still curious about the reboot trigger (and I guess the same goes for you ).

Seems like problem with watchdogs...

Please can you try to boot framebuffer kernel and write abnormal logs?

Hmm, how am I going to see that logs? Tried adding modprobe fbcon, but it does not help displaying any info. Can't imagine I have look in syslog, because that daemon won't be started at that time.

I also tried disabling some watchdog code in bootmenu.sh, but that did not have impact.

without watchdogs program n900 will reboot in 30s for sure (watchdogs prevent rebooting)

try to boot framebuffer kernel image (it has fbcon module linked) from MAG: http://mohammadag.xceleo.org/public/...-fb-omap1-pr13
