Anyway of playing mp4 video file on N900? I tried someplayer but it seems to not be working. The generic media player does not play this file format. I gratly would appreciate any suggestion.

imho videos recorded with the n900 are .mp4 files too. I think your problem is that the codec or resolution of your video is not supported.

Please check the audio and video codecs used within the file. If you have a Windows computer, GSpot is a decent tool for that.
