LambdaRogue is roguelike games with graphical tile sets and audio and it is now installable to N900 (no i386-fremantle version).
upstream: http://lambdarogue.net/
maemo modifications: https://gitorious.org/maemo-lambdaro...mo-lambdarogue

Gameplay on N900: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4NnxngSnek

Install:
1) enable extras-devel
2) install package 'lambdarogue' (30M)

(Or install package 'lambdarogue-extra-music', and it will install also game (100M))

Game is written in Pascal (compiled with FreePascal) and it uses SDL. Mouse is not supported very well.
Audio is played via mplayer (can be changed on options or config-file), so install it and change option PlaySoundFX=True.

If you want hear music too, install package 'lambdarogue-extra-music' (70M) and change option to PlayMusic=True.

Keyboard config for Maemo:
*If it asks text, you can use Fn to type numbers and special characters
*If it asks number or numbers, you can use 'q' for '1' (and so on) with or without Fn.
*If it asks ESC, use Backspace
*If you want backspace, use left-arrow (this is from desktop version, but it is now only way)
*If you want F1...F10, use CTRL+q...CTRL+p (like CTRL+1, but without Fn)
F11 = CTRL+,
F12 = CTRL+.
*If you want '+', you can use '+' or 's' (same key, with or without Fn)
*If you want '-', you can use '-' or 'f' (same key, with or without Fn)

If you find some place to not respect this layout, report is as bug. As well as if you find some other key, which is hard or impossible to get. (I'm afraid there are some of them, e.g. if you have too many saved games, one of them are assigned to the key '{')

Sounds play even phone-profile is muted, volume is respected.
Screen dims if idling (but sounds do not get muted).

Anyone else having problems quitting the game? I have to repeat pressing "backspace" (for menu) and "3" (for quit) many times before it eventually quits.

I can reproduce this *sometimes*. Pressing '3' for quit, doesn't *seem* to do anything, after that pressing 'backspace' for closing menu, will not close the menu anymore (so game is really quitted at this stage).
Then repeating backspace couple of times will finally close the application

Hey! This is FUN! Really inviting roguelike, pretty barebones, fairly challenging. Needs work though!

A few things I don't like:
- taking a down stair from the sewers dumps you into a 'countryside' map without a stairway back
- there aren't hints to how to solve quests. Quests should have hints, pointers, strewn about. Should be done when you create them.

[will edit later for more ideas/critique]

Try the game folks - it is a very cool little roguelike!
