when i set up my xchange email on my n9, it required a security pin.

i didnt know that i had to put that dumb pin in every time i came off of standby! this isnt a blackberry.

does anyone know how to:

1. change the pin
2. make it so that you do not require a pin when coming out of standby

Normally that happens when the Exchange server *requires* a PIN to be set and used for unlocking.

N900 was a non-provisionable device so it ignored said requirements (but on the other hand prevented some servers from working with it).

The N9 supports provisioning, so it works with most Exchange servers, but of course has to follow the rules it's given.

In short: contact your system administrator and ask if it's really required.

I had the same thing.

Go to settings of the email account.
Go down the bottom to Provisionable device and turn it off.

That is, make it non-provisionable.

Then it doesn't ask you for pin.

lol...i am the administrator of my office365 exchange! lol. couldnt figure out why it would force me to if it had not on my n900.

AWESOME! thanks. worked a charm. wasnt sure why there was a non-provisions option.

would you mind explaining how or why that would be important? i am having an issue getting another exchange to work on the device.
