Hi everyone,

After browsing through the web, i noticed that there are a lot of applications created that are not through the Ovi Store. If i were to download these files, how do i install them on the N9? Thanks!

You need to allow installing applications outside from store first, this is in the setting.

Then turn on developer mode, you then get a terminal.

type

dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/filename.deb to install it.

or using file managei which is a lot easier...

If i plug in my N9, where do i transfer the file to? is there a specific folder in my N9 for applications to install?

also, i do not see file managei anywhere...

You can place your .deb anywhere you want ,. Just make sure you can find it later .
There are some file manager in Ovi Store like FileBox, QAD File Manager ,.. Personnaly I use FileBox

Put the file anywhere and browse with your file manager to locate the file. Tap the file and wait for it to install.

Easiest way is to open web browser on N9, download the file on it and install. You need to enable 'allow non-store sources' in the settings.
