Hi,
I searched and looks like it hasn't been noted anywhere....

In settings, profile.. turn off:
system sounds
key sounds
touch screen sounds

The difference is really amazing and saves battery too.

BEWARED!!! YOU WONT HEAR THE LOW BATTERY WARNING!!

Pulse audio is disabled on silent too... so if your running emulators it run way good!

i've decided to turn back system for the battery warning
So i'm renaming the online presence, keyboard and window launch sounds

cd /usr/share/sounds
mv ui-thumb_keyboard_launch.wav ui-thumb_keyboard_launch.wav-old
mv ui-window_open.wav ui-window_open.wav-old
mv ui-window_close.wav ui-window_close.wav-old
mv presence-online.wav presence-online.wav.old
mv presence-offline.wav presence-offline.wav.old

The usb plugging in sounds is ok, for now.

Also, this makes the auto update repository checker check only every 365 days:

gconftool -s --type int /apps/hildon/update-notifier/check_interval 525600

EDIT: every 12m = 43800

Pulse audio uses around 10% cpu, so if it's not starting, your running 10% faster!

I run my own battery system and don't get the warning sounds, instead the led blinks when getting low (<15%)

But a few days i took touch sound/vibrate off and that actually did speed up transitions and such.

This thread is just like how they molest a Porsche and remove its components to make it lighter and drive faster. I guess boosting the turbo part, is also equivalent to overclocking it.

Why don't we all just have no speaker, or mic, or coloured screen...just a block that lasts you an eternity
