Yeah the first go around is a bit tricky, I lost my front facing camera module but I don't really vid chat so it is not a big deal. Patience is key when swapping out a housing. Just take your time, double and triple check steps. Once you done it once, it becomes rather easy subsequent times you swap.

So I dinged the edge my beauty
Tip: Never place phone between your legs while driving, if you forget about it when you jump out and the seat is flat its going to slide out and hit the ground.

Went on ebay and purchased a new chassis from here. It comes with a regular star and two torx screwdrivers and and the little blue tool that Nokia uses the pry out the screen. I'm assuming this was made in one of the China factories as it was shipped from Hong Kong.

I just received it and apart from the "Carl Ziess Tessar" font on the back it looks exactly the same down to the finest detail . The font in the new chassis is a bit thinner and elongated. Same quality laser etched finish on both chrome strips though. Build quality seems much better than my Finland Chassis as there's no play on the hardware buttons.

Tempted to do the swap now but the damage on my phone although painful to look at isn't major so I think I'll wait until/if ever I damage it again.

I'll upload pics when I get home.

How many people here have a china made white n9? Is there any difference between the china made or finland made?

The markings on the bottom are different. There are some Chinese characters and the CE-mark is missing.

Fit and finish was perfect. For example my old black case creaks when pressing from the sides but the white one was solid as a rock.

Hi All,

I'm tempted to swap my housing as I want to ditch the silicone case, but find my black N9 a bit slippery hense i use the case.

The black PC is loosing its matt finish already where its rubbing within the case.

For those that have a white N9 or have swapped the housing - does it hold up better? is the glossy layer ok? or am i just going to run into the same issue?

I'm using my white N9 since Feb-12 and it's yet scratches, smudgeless, dentless, undiscolored, or whatever disfigurement/s could be.

I keep it in a zipper pouch though, always... purchased off eBay. Didn't yet open the OEM pouch that came inside the box.
