Have been waiting for some UK site to start reporting on the droid to hopefully get some support behind the device. Would seem to be an ideal next step after the N900...

Hopefully the more people talk about it the greater the chance of this phone making it to Europe/UK.

With Maemo on it... that would be a great N900 replacement.

My GF has the droid 3.
I now know why everyone says android needs dual cores!!
the UI is VERY bloated... not clean and simple like meamo.

You can multitask, if you can find it, it looks like iOS multitasking.
I've used it only a few times.. so i'm not 100% sure

Ye motoblur has made a name for itself alas not a very good one lol

The droid 3 had a Dual core 1ghz Cortex A9... I just want a new QWERTY phone and there is just nothing available in the UK Wana get it on contract as am due an upgrade.

Thinking of going with GiffGaff and then buying a Milestone/Droid 4 if/when it comes out. Bet it doesn't

oh...

Still the droid 4 looks rather sexy! I like keyboard, can finally play LHX in dosbox, my life has lead up to this point lol.

Just like you, a qwerty was a must for me. But I'd recommend you look at the Samsung NOTE.
Disadvantages:
no physical keyboard
physically wider/larger

Advantages:
much better virtual keyboard (thanks to its size)
Pen feature for quick Note-taking, and even scribing (once you learn to tame your hand to it)
lighter and thinner (fits into most pockets fine)
no locked bootloader
better developer community
much better processor
much better screen (more pixels, better colours, viewing angles)
much better oem software (TouchWizz vs Blur)
much better GPS (in fact best on any mobile)
dual mics!
probably a better re-sale value in the end

I've got one, and I hardly miss the qwerty (unless for GameGripper, but I hardly play emulators anymore)
