Hi,

I've had my N900 for quite some time now, but suddenly the volume of the mic became quite low. It's very difficult for people to hear me.

I've tried to record some video same problem. But when I connect the headset that came with the device and speaks into the headset mic I talk laugh and clearly.

The phone mic isn't off. I think the volume is about 50% and thats pretty strange. Do you have any ideas or should I try to reflash the device?

I've tried to run "alsamixer -c0" but it seemed like an important device was muted or at low volume.

I've tried using some compressed air (w/ phone powered off)
- and looked in the settings and the volume doing calls but nothing helps.

People can still hear me but very low, so the mic isn't totally dead.

If I don't find a solution I'll try to reflash the device on Sunday.

Did the reflashing help?

It didn't for me, and I have exactly the same problem. Some people hear me well, others don't. Their hearing capabilities does not seem to grow linearly with my speaking volume, as in when I speak just a bit louder than usual they hear me completely fine, not just "a bit louder than barely hearable". I have no idea how to solve this either.
