Being complete novice to internet tablet and Linux, I’m having several troubles with a number of software installations. Some repositories don’t work, some packages are missing. To make this experience less disappointing to newbie like me, I decided to put together some software packages I had trouble with and host them at my site. This is not one click install, just open the link from you Nokia browser and install opened file. Or save them to your MMC card and install later. And the first one is MINIMO 0.20.2 internet browser for Nokia 770

Can we please delete this post? Hosting installation files without (that may have been altered) and that are easily available from official sources seems mighty suspicious, especially given that the site hosting the files appears to be an "affiliate marketing company"

If nothing else, this seems like an attempt misuse this forum to direct traffic to a commercial site.

I understand what your saying about deleting this post- but I have tried to install from offical sites and get the same problem...

May be I should not reply to Rocketman, however:
1. The way how repositories are organized is strange. You can easily get core files but can't install them because some library's are missing. The only thing that you can figure out are the names of this library's. Then you should spend a couple of hours or may be days, trying to find these files. The most offensive part is that these file are free and they are located somewhere. You just don't know where.
2. Sometimes (and for some repository's it is very often) some repository's don't work. May be it's just my problem and something is configured wrong, but I can easily get to maemo-hackers.org from my PC but can't enable this in my Nokia.
3. Nokia made every possible effort to dicredite their excellent product by coming up with 3 incompatible OS in 1.5 years and unstable general software.

I don't need any traffic from this forum for commercial purposes. I will continue to put some notes for myself because I wanted to memorize some new stuff and I feel that it could be helpful for some folks here. Next soft that
I'll put on my syte would probably be SDICT(when I'll have some time). It's the best dictionary I ever try. I had troubles getting Python libs, they were starting to download and then I was getting an error. Spend more than a week before I got them.

Thank you for doing this. I tried installing minimo's one click install file from maemo.org but it doesn't work.

However, when I try to install this following your instructions on your website it doesn't work either. I click on the first file on my 770, and when I try to install it, it says "Unable to install. Incompatible package."

Am I doing something wrong?

I uninstalled all 5 components to verify this problem. It is necessary to go into
Red Pill mode before installing. Instructions for entering RED PILL mode are here or you can find them together with some explanations if you'll search maemo or this forum.
Please let me know if you still have this problem. I would be able to verify in more details this evening. And thank you for the post. I'll update instructions.

To make everyone happy, maybe you should post the links to the (original) files here (in one post) instead of copying them to your site and posting a link to your site.

That would benefit everyone who would see this thread anyways, and would remove any question of legitimacy.

It's not just newbies who get annoyed at searching all over the web for required dependencies. Thanks for putting them all in one place.

I'm thinking that this was my initial error. So, the best thing to do is to put original links together with hosted files. Of course I would strongly recommend to get files from original links because they are the most resent.
In case that original links are not working, my host will give the possibility to get these files. Does it makes sense to you?
