[Transform] N900 Nitdroid,HP Touchpad CM7, Galaxy Note/S2 or any Android Phone or Tablet to "iPad Tablet"

WARNING - IF YOU ARE CHANGING DPI, TRY IT AT YOUR OWN RISK,

NOTE - ITS RISK FREE FOR TOUCHPAD(CM7/9) AS IT DOESN'T REQUIRE DPI CHANGE. "I CHANGED DPI OF MY TP BECAUSE I WANTED TO, ITS NOT NECESSARY AT ALL"

Enough said lets start

SCREENSHOTS : HP Touchpad CM7(modified DPI)

SCREENSHOTS : N900 (modified DPI)

METHOD

all you need is
1) iLauncher Pro - This is Best "iPad/iPhone Style" Android Launcher

FEATURES
- Smooth scrolling
- Icons have rounded corners and gloss effects.
- Long touch icons to move them around and position them as you like.
- Dock-bar
- Easily uninstall apps from your home screen.
- Press the back button to exit edit mode.
- Can change each application's name and icon
- Spotlight search
- Folder
- Shortcuts

their is also a free version but it doesn't support Landscape mode,saving app stortcut

iLauncher lite Free

iLauncher Pro

OR

1) YOU CAN NOW USE "ESPIER LAUNCHER HD" for the same purpose AND ITS FREE

its also supports iOs style bottom swipe for resent apps(not available in iLauncher)

and widgets support

Espier Launcher HD

-----------------------------------------------

2) DPI Changing - this is important for N900 or any device with less then 1024x resolution to switch to tablet mode
WITHOUT IT ALL YOU'L GET IS AN "IPHONE Clone" if you want it STOP HERE

Changing DPI

LCD Resolution (Root)(app) - works flawlessly on both N900 & HP Touchpad CM7(touchpad and other tablets doesn't really need dpi change)
(you will be able to see the resolution preview in the "Lcd Resolution" app Slider)"

DPI settings
TP(CM7)
default = 160dpi
changed =120dpi

N900(Nitdroid) Setting-1
default = ~250dpi : : : : Resolution = 800x480
Changed = 150dpi : : : : Resolution = 1280x768 almost similar to Galaxy Note

N900(Nitdroid) Setting-2
default = ~250dpi : : : : Resolution = 800x480
Changed = 120dpi : : : : Resolution = 1600 x 960 . . . Shocking but it works Great "All my Birds(Angry) from Space are Happy singing Opera(tablet mode) and my Car's and the Asphalt(HD) below it is Also feeling like Fruit Ninja with it..."

NOTE - for CM9 dont use "LCD Resolution" app... instead it that, you need to install "update-lcd_density_120-alpha0.6.ZIP" with Clockwork Mod.. it can be found on CM9 download page along with other zip files

NOTE - do backup your "build.prop" before changing DPI

3) Smart Keyboard or Slideit keyboard whatever you like

4) TASK XP (free) - a Must Have Task Manager for iLauncher & N900 Nitdroid... and other Droids
its a free task manager Excellent for Multitasking and Task killing.. an switching between Actually Running Apps and not resent apps

Name:  screen_20120410_2146.jpg
Views: 2791
Size:  46.1 KB
Task XP (pop-up) running in the bottom

Note - in N900 or Any Small screen android device (if ilauncher doesn't switch to tablet mode after DPI change), just tap the iLauncher icon and Enable Tablet Mode... Disable shadow if you don't like it in Touchpad or other Android Tablet

Enjoy.. &.. Enjoy...

^ That's on the HP Touchpad.

Can you post some pics for the N900?

Gonna try this on both the N900 and Touchpad. What's missing on the free version?

Edit: Sorry, I re-read the 1st post and saw you answered that. It's late and i'm tired. Bed time

Opera finally running in Tablet Mode on N900 Nitdroid

you should try it... if 120dpi is too small for you, Go for 150 ie 1280x768(~HD)

i personally feel My N900 is more usable as tiny 3g Micro tablet
Cheers

[Edit] - instructions updated in first Post, Now their is Another Launcher to give Nitdroid and other Androids iPad Look for Free
