Love it... cuz I personally find it more usable then non-tablet mode..

METHOD

all you need is

1) HCL Launcher : : HCL or Honeycomb Launcher is a launcher, or home replacement app, for Android devices that will replicate Honeycomb 3.2 to its limit!
ok that was copy/paste.. but its so very true guys... you need to have a look on the Play Store screenshots "it seems that even those people underestimated the power of this amazing launcher"

another Good thing about HCL Launcher is that ITS FREE

Features (again copy/paste)
★Clones Honeycomb 3.0 - 3.2+
★Honeycomb Wallpaper Chooser
★Hide Notification Bar (Gesture/Swipe up)
★Honeycomb Quick-Menu
★Honeycomb Google Search Bar
★7 Honeycomb clock widgets pre-installed
★Quick-Action Menu with Quick-Launch
★Hide Labels (Under Launcher Settings in Honeycomb Settings)
★Supports all sources of wallpapers (e.g. Cyanogenmod, gallery)
★Supports Live Wallpapers (All sources)
Scrollable Widgets (HTC) . . . "this feature is working on our N900 Nitdroid too
★Re-Sizable Widgets

Their is also a Plus version called HCL+ Launcher "if you want to support Developers for their outstanding work"

HCL+ launcher features :
★Extra Wallpapers
★Pre-installed apps

Quick Tips and Help
★Swipe up/down to hide/show the notification bar

Please be patient! as HCL Launcher Crashes in the beginning but Stabilizes Later on...

use taskXP to free up ram if you like play with widgets

Remember this is still in BETA

-----------------------------------------------

2) DPI Changing - this is important for N900 or any device with less then 1024x resolution to switch to tablet mode.. for some apps like Opera mobile/mini & iLauncher

Changing DPI

LCD Resolution (Root)(app) - works flawlessly on N900, it also shows the resolution preview in while moving app Slider

N900(Nitdroid) Setting-1 . . . [Recommended]
default = ~250dpi : : : : Resolution = 800x480
Changed = 150dpi : : : : Resolution = 1280x768 almost similar to Galaxy Note

N900(Nitdroid) Setting-2 . . . [RECOMMENDATION I KEEP TO MYSELF]
default = ~250dpi : : : : Resolution = 800x480
Changed = 120dpi : : : : Resolution = 1600 x 960 . . . Shocking but it works Great

NOTE - do backup your "build.prop" before changing DPI

-----------------------------------------------

3) Smart Keyboard or Slide-it keyboard whatever you like
note - do increase the height of smart keyboard in settings

-----------------------------------------------
4) TASK XP (free) - a Must Have Task Manager for N900 Nitdroid... and other Droids
its a free task manager Excellent for Multitasking and Task killing.. an switching between Actually Running Apps and not resent apps

-----------------------------------------------
5) Cheers ur done

-----------------------------------------------

YOU ARE FREE TO USE ANY & AS MANY WIDGET YOU LIKE/WANT, JUST REMEMBER THEY CONSUME RAM

Enjoy.. &.. Enjoy...

REGARDS
