try installing the facebook widget
and register ur facebook account through it ..

are you sure you've updated the libcurl3????

Thanks for your response.

I have first of all tried to log in via the widget. When i clicked on it, it sent me to the web browser to my facebook account. I tried to set-up the account through the desktop menu, but it just came back the with message of no network connection available.

I have therefore followed the steps again, and the X-Terminal is showing screen is showing the following:

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
libcurl3 is already the newest version.
0 upgrade, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 14 not upgraded

Is this what i should have expected or has something gone wrong?

you need to enable extras-devel from app manager
then run xterm and type this

sudo gainroot
apt-get update
apt-get install libcurl3

u have to update the packages first ...

i got ( libcurl3 is already the newest version.) many times untill i used apt-get update

try it now and tell me what u get

Where in app manager would I find the extras-devel. I searched through the 'All' list but cannot find it. As it's in alphabetical order, i am pretty sure i haven't missed it.

Am i doing something wrong, or is it missing?

if you dont see extras-devel add it by clicking on new

name = extras-devel
url = http://repository.maemo.org/extras-devel/
distribution = fremantle-1.3
components = free non-free

after enabling it
go to xterm and try the commands

Make sure you have installed the correct version, i.e. 7.25.0-1maemo7. And make sure to reboot your phone.

hello!
i'm trying to update this pkg but keep getting errors, first do
sudo gainroot
apt-get update
but when i'm try apt-get install libcurl3 its says
e: could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock-open (11 resource temporarily unavailable)
e: Unable yo lock the administrator directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it!?

and nothing is open

now its worked but say that there's no need for update, that i have the already the newest version
but still when i'm trying to upload a photo i keep getting transfer error and when trying to update the album list nothing happens

it means u didnt update extras-devel

open app manager > from the menu select "application catalogs"
if you dont see extras-devel add it by clicking on "new" or check ur setting if its there

after that try the codes and things should work
