Howdy,

If you like the the internal music player of the N9, but are annoyed that that it does not autostart when you press the headsets play button and does not restore the playlist? Then this could be for you.

This is PlayMee, an attempt to create a free music player for the N9 which behaves mostly like the internal one, but addresses the above issues.

Get the source here:
https://gitorious.org/playmee

Get the package:
http://follefuder.org/playmee/playmee_0.0.1_armel.deb

This is in an early stage of development, however I use it as my daily music player since quite a while. As it does what I need, I thought I could push it and maybe you like it and start contributing some features.

Here are some screenshots:

Have fun!
Michael

Source seems not compilable for N900.
(at least) These are missing:
MDeclarativeCache
QGalleryQueryRequest:
QDocumentGallery

That's not enough... Even if I would replace the QDocumentGallery by accessing the tracker DB directly, this app still uses MeeGo UI components which are not available on the N900. Anyways, if some of you want to contribute to make it happen, I'd be happy to get you started.

Very well done! Looks already very good. It also can read my few Russian songs (with its font). No clue why the N9 music player doesn't understand Russian...

hi in albums view, the various songs are sorted via artists so one album with 6 artists shows as 6 albums. can this be customized to show it as only one album.

no music controls on standby screen, im not able to start music by pressing headset button...
i really like that im able to switch between repeating all songs or just one by clicking one single button. an ability stock music player does not have and i really needed that.

one bug i found: player shows the audio-layer of my videos taken with backcamera as songs in the playlist. kinda annoying...

some improvements and this is a perfect replacement for stock music player
