Hi,
Recently whenever I start the camera I just get the camera UI and a black screen. Additionally the following message appears in syslog:

video4linux video0: omap34xxcam_daemon_req: daemon is missing!

Using Google I've found this thread but it didn't help. Would appreciate your help.

Have you already run in X terminal:
Code:

sudo gainroot
apt-get autoremove omap3camd --purge && apt-get install omap3camd
Bumping...
Best wishes...

droll: are you using CSSU's camera-ui? If yes, then it has options about starting-or-not on lens-cover-open or focus-button-press. If no, then look into how the "camera lens launcher" works, how it changes the system files.
Best wishes...

Yes, that's exactly what I did. No change at all.

look first try deleting something any useless file from MyDocs and see what happens. if it deletes the file then its fine. if it shows error ''Read-Only memory'' then use this command

umount /home/user/MyDocs
type fsck -a /dev/mmcblk0p1
reboot

Unfortunately that isn't the problem; I can successfully delete files from MyDocs.

Another piece of information: The omap3camd daemon isn't running at all. If I attempt to run it using:
/usr/sbin/omap3camd -d /dev/video0
It just prints the startup messages and exits immediately. It does work on /dev/video1 but that doesn't get the camera application to work.
