The attached rar archives contain points of interest files formatted for the Navicore Personal Navigator, version 2.2.1.62, running on the N800 Internet Tablet.
Here are 8 archives containing a text file and an appropriate icon file.
These archives include:
-Lowes
-Home Depot
-WaWa (free ATM)
-Dunkin’ Donuts
-Combined reported speed trap and red light cams
-Panera Bread (free WiFi)
-Red Light cameras (additional red light cams, some duplicates.)
-Advanced Auto Parts
To install them on your device…
First unpack the rar.
Each POI file can be installed by copying the files found in the appropriate archive to the memory card in the ”\mapdata\extensions” directory, which should already be present on the card. The copying can be done in one of several ways:
• Using a memory card attached to a PC
• Using the USB data cable that came with the device.
When Navicore is started the next time, the question “Install extension?” is asked. After clicking yes, the POI category is available on the device.
Only the NCE file may actually be needed however the editor I used created the text file as well, so I loaded them.
The information included in these files has been culled from public records, personal map files, and /or from actual input using a GPS device. I have found them useful and some of the categories are unique to the east coast and Mid-Atlantic States. However, they are complete as of 9/07 to the best of my knowledge.
Do not install them without first making a back-up of ALL your Navicore DATA!
I couldn’t be at all locations to verify accuracy but I also haven’t found any errors at the places I have been. However, I have no way of knowing if there were omissions.
If you find an error or omission, make a dang correction on your unit. Simple azat.
