After looking at the dimensions for the Nintendo DS lite, I realized that they are nearly idendicle to the N810.

How close?
133mm x 73.9mm x 21.5mm (Nintendo DS)
128mm x 72.0mm x 14.0mm (Nokia N810)

That's half a centimeter difference in length and about the same in thickness.

As my brain spun around (for about 10 mins.... or maybe an hour) I concluded that perhaps the N810 *just might* fit into the DS lite case. A quick search led me here: Best Buy Nintendo DS lite case (http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10075116&catid=22041#)

For only $20 CDN (~ $19 US) this case *should* quite snuggly store accessories (eg. bluetooth headset, extra mini-SD cards, headphones, etc) for the N810 and the N810 itself, protecting it from the daily scrapes that come with transport. For a tighter fix, extra foam and glue will keep the jostling to a bare minimum, though I doubt this would be necessary.

I don't know of too many N8xx cases, but this seems like a fantastic hard case solution, for a too-good-to-be-true price. It's equipped with a sliding lock, hard aluminum exterior, robust nylon strap, foam padding, and net storage compartments inside.

It's up there on my must-buy list, unless someone can point out a flaw or show me a better solution! If you think this will work, or if verifiable by one cognizant of all things N810, I'll add it to the N810 Links page.

Thanks for letting me share.

But this case has cut out for DS connectors. It does not look nice if you use with N810.

Are you certain of this? The images I've seen have outward facing hinges, but I haven't read about or seen any DS cut-outs. I wouldn't really understand the point of having cut-outs either, as the DS is not playable inside of the case when it's closed. It doesn't even say Nintendo or DS on the cover (just intec, the manufacturer).

Agreed. It certainly doesn't look (http://0188bf0.netsolhost.com/test/images/ds/ds_1860L.jpg) as though it's intended to allow use of the DS Lite while the unit is in the case. It appears to simply protect it during transport and storage.

My thoughts exactly.

Notice how there's also a flap separating the storage compartment from the actual device. This would certainly keep the screen from becoming scratched while the case is closed, or is knocked about with an N810 inside. A very useful perk.

It looks as though the case lid is as large as the bottom.

For the more adventurous, it *may* be able to hold a fold-able bluetooth keyboard as well as the N810. This would of course require heavy case modification, and a bluetooth keyboard with similar (likely smaller) proportions. Lastly, it may not leave room for much more than mini-SD cards (on the flap perhaps).

There's a simiar case (http://www.psp411.com/show/product/58/0/Intec_Safe_Case.html) for the sony PSP (by the same company) that is designed for the larger unit. This case would require modification, but due to the larger PSP size, may be able to hold the N810, slim bluetooth keyboard *and* a few other accessories (earbuds, bluetooth headset, etc).

The dimensions of all three devices follows:

170mm x 74.0mm x 23.0mm (sony PSP)
133mm x 73.9mm x 21.5mm (Nintendo DS)
128mm x 72.0mm x 14.0mm (Nokia N810)

Very cool, for the low price of $10US. I may just get both, the DS case for convenience, and the PSP one for a small 'case-mod' project.

Great! This means that the PSP case should fit the N800 as well. 1mm extra in height over the PSP is probably not going to break compatibility.

Great info!

I can't locate a bluetooth keyboard that is less than 90mm tall. It is unlikely that a fold-able one will fit either case.
