Hello there, after several months of problem free uktube use, after lending my 770 to my flatmate it seems that it no longer works, it just hangs on the initiating download part, just closes the app suddenly or states something like parameters cannot be found... Can anyone suggest what's wrong and what can be done to get it working again?

Thanks :)

Not the first time this has happened.

It should be because of changes in youtube's code. Kontori will probably fix it soon.

I am having the same problems. With youtube its harder to locate the link into uktube.

I found an alternative - download and install greasemonkey, install the script called video and click the link to download. Once downloaded, use mplayer to view the .flv file. Its easier to use than uktube once its all set up.

Try the latest version of uktube from
https://garage.maemo.org/frs/download.php/2496/UKMP-1.70Alpha8.deb

And please report if it fixes your problems or not.

It is working!

If it makes a difference, I flashed my 770 to os2007he earlier today.

What do I do with the deb file after I download it. Do I uninstall the UKtube I have now or do I just install the deb file?? I have a 770 hacker edition with UKMP v1.621 installed which includes uktube. Mine hangs on initiating download. Is there a download start button? I hit "show in widescreen" and then it hangs. I also tried "only download" same thing??

I am having the same problems.

I reinstalled it from https://garage.maemo.org/frs/download.php/2496/UKMP-1.70Alpha8.deb but still, not working.

All it says is "initiating download..."

You will have to install mplayer as well.

And have internet connection on.

Kontorri... i have been using uktube since its inception. And even i can confirm that the recent alpha8.deb did not work for me also. Please look into it. I have tried other things like grease monkey for micro b etc.... but every other method is a pain. Now we know how nice uktube is. So please update asap. Thanks

Ok, my problem is probably in that I'm testing on n810 already, so ... Umm... I'll do some heavy testing on sunday on n800. I have also tested that theme maker files are becoming compatible with the n810. So, if I get the time on sunday, I'll also publish the first version of theme maker that will work on n810 / chinook n800.

sachin007: Is the problem in playing the files or on downloading them?

the latest on is the beta:

Well i was really happy to know that you fixed it and started to download it .. .. last week. I had the same problem with irregular download status on the n800. SO i downloaded it onto my pc and installed it. When i selected a video and hit show in widescreen.... nothing happened. It downloaded the screen shot but got stuck in the initiating download part. Then i cancelled it and reopened and tried download this time. Surprisingly after some time after it said initiaiting it started downloading. But after that i had tried many times to both use show in widescreen and download without any success. Hope this helps

Not working for me either, 2006 os. It seems there is a new version of mplayer, and after updating it neither uktube or mplayer work.

Urho,
I attached the error that gives me uktube downloading videos (or streaming it).
I think it's easier that you can see the error with it.

Note that the thumbnail image is displayed perfectly.

Reedit: I am using UKMP-1.70Beta and N800 with last OS.

Cheers.

Hi,
I just reflashed my N770, installed mplayer, python2.5, UKMP, xterm, etc,etc

I only use UKTUBE, not media player, and would be great to install only, one, the other or both, but give the chance.

But thanks konttori, its great!

Thanks

can you post a link to a youtube page that fails to download?

lucky-luke: ukmp takes 100 kb of space. It shouldn't matter that they are bundled.

I agree with you that 100kb are little, but as ukmp and uktube can be alone, I think that it would be a way to release alone.

But You are right that 100kb are little and for us is not a problem to dounload/install.

Thanks
