My aqua pack just came in the mail today:

Now I can surf in the bathtub without fear of dunking. :) It even has a slot on the outside for the stylus.

Someone's been reading Dr.Seuss lately. "Oh, The Places You'll Go!"

I've used the extra strong ziplock baggies before. (TMI?) Which model did you get as that looks about perfect, and a lot more secure.

Aquapac Waterproof Case SMALL (PDA Classic) - for devices up to 150 x 200 mm (6 x 7.9")

www.proporta.com. Around $20. Use the coupon PASSITON10 for 10%off. Shipping is pretty reasonable at $5 to the US.

It fits almost perfectly. (there's a little bit of extra space height wise, but the window size is perfect for hitting all the controls and whatnot. It's very easy to open and close the bag, as there are just two oversize handled clamps to turn.

I'm gonna go take a bath and catchup on an episode of Battlestar Galactica that I missed. :) I'll see about Wifi reception underwater, but I suspect that it'll be severely diminished.

Won't the audio be a tad muted?

Cool, it says it will even float. Have you tested this yet? :)

Awesome for eBooks as they're hardware controlled, but will the stylus still be detected through the bag's plastic?

You gotta be some hardcore users to be taking your device for a swim :)

Ummm yeah... I'll think about that.

Results from last night's testing:

It is waterproof. It does NOT float. At least not in freshwater. I guess the 770 is a close enough fit that there's not enough air in there for buoyancy given the high density of tablet.

The clear vinyl top is very flexible. The stylus works fine through it, though it feels spongy. It clings a bit to the screen (or my screen protector rather), but no ill effects.

You can hear the speaker just fine through the plastic. Doesn't sound muted at all to me.

As for Wifi peformance, I got distracted playing nethack and forgot to test the network.

"distracted playing nethack"
uh-huh .. sure... that's exactly what I'd be doing naked in a bathtub with a Nokia 770.

And thought I was going too far by checking email in the bathroom. Hmm, bathtime may never be the same again.
