How do i uninstall canola through root because i cannot seem to get the whole thing to uninstall. I though i can remove everything from ssh but i do not know how to use it. is there another way or easier way to do this? and the guide to ssh on the maemo website is too much i want something more simple.

I've been told by someone more knowledgeable than me not to do this through root but to do it by ssh, because it's somehow dangerous. So you have been warned. But here is what I did:

0. First I went into Red Pill Mode. I don't know if this is necessary or not. You can Google it to learn how. When done, go back to Blue Pill Mode.

1. Install becomeroot (I don't know if that's necessary, but I did)

2. In xterm, enter

sudo gainroot

This ought to change the prompt from $ to #

3. At prompt, enter

apt-get -f remove canola2

4. At next prompt, enter

apt-get --purge --force-yes -y remove libevas0 libecore0 libeet0 libembryo0 libdownloadmanager0

5. Close xterm

6. Turn off NIT.

7. Turn NIT back on.

8. Go to the Canola download on the web: http://openbossa.indt.org.br/canola2/

9. Install it.

10. Reboot NIT again.

11. Return to Blue Pill Mode.

If you need any programs or Repositories for the installation, go to: http://tinyurl.com/2tqc6q

Good luck!
