Garnet does have a J2ME JVM, but it has no decent web browser (guess why I upgraded from a TX to a N800). There is no Palm OS web browser that will do java.

OK, "full Java" and "Opera mini" are two separate issues on Palm/Garnet OS...

There is no full Java VM (ie J2SE).

There is (or rather, was) a J2ME VM to run MIDlets, and there is/was an Opera mini PRC that runs on top of it. Java WebSphere MicroEdition (an IBM product) was removed from Palm's site recently, and was only licensed for use on Palm's own devices. It might work, though, if you can find someone who still has a copy.

i downloaded a websphere set of prc files, but it doesnt work yet...
maybe because i didn't install all of them...

does anyone have websphere or opera-mini running yet on n800>?

in my case I installed all needed files but no icon is showed on garnet app manager neither palm's own screen.

I used latest jvm version.

wow... all this time and still no java on n800...
the n800 is such a great product... so much better
than my old palm t3 i hardly used. the
n800 has a better web browser, better video,
and more apps for free.

but no java in the web browser means i will need
to buy another portable device in the future for that...
my cell phone doesnt have a java browser either...

anyone get full java working on the n800 or another
portable device?
