I want one :/

Another link with more pic's

The N96 is pretty similar to the Symbian 60-powered N95 we've all come to recognize as Nokia's 5MP GPS finest, but with 16GB of internal memory and a 2.8-inch screen. This model also has a built-in DVB-H receiver for digital TV signals in Europe and Asia, and a kickstand for desktop viewing. Also new are the backlit touchbuttons on the face, dialpad and top slider section of the phone. When playing media, they show the typical play/pause/ff/rr functions; when gaming on the N-Gage gaming platform, they show control pad buttons. Approx $800, but likely no US 3G support.

On Nokia.com you can compare devices with each other including the N95(-2) and the N96. I'm not sure the compare was complete though, I'm not sure whether some technical specifications of the N96 were missing or not. Beware.

Some of the features in N96, like A-GPS, are already available on an up-to-date flashed N95(-2) & other N-Series. Thats because some features are entirely software-based.

In USA, the iPhone 2 will cost 600 USD (8 GB) or 700 USD (16 GB), unlocked so I think the N96 has a competitive price when its near this price.

I also heard its smaller than the N95, but I'm not sure about the difference.

Its a shame Nokia wasn't able to deliver the N96 on the market before EC2008. Q3 is there, but no news on N96?!

Nokia N96 in interet tablet ??

Such a lousy, brutally expensive ordinary phone without a keyboard and touchscreen , I won't call it even a PDA.
You can better buy a Nokia E65 (BT + HSDPA) + N810 are together cheaper than a N96 !

The E65 lacks HSDPA (UMTS only) and is annoyingly slow by today's standard imho.

But I'd also advice against the N96 - get a N85 when it comes out (in a couple of weeks). Smaller, thinner, much better battery life, cheaper...or get a E66/E71 now. Both are nothing short of stunning (I currently use a E71 and I pretty much love it).

And the first touchscreen phone by Nokia since the dreadful 7710 back in 2004 will be out in about a month as well, if rumors can be believed.

If you go to http://www.nokia.co.uk you can compare several devices with each other including N96 and N85.

The weight and size of both devices is actually similar, and the difference is neglectible. N85 does not have push to talk, N96 supports more video formats, and DVB-H. Plus the price difference.

N85 has 1200 mAh battery, N95 (except -1 (grey one) which has 950 mAh) too. N96 will again have 950 mAh like first N95 but has reportedly better battery life than N95.

Well, I wouldn't call it a PDA either. But it's not supposed to be.

Make some new threads. Seriously, the N96 has been discussed various times already. There is no specific thread for e.g. the N85 though.
