i did a restore of applications and settings in
the hope it would bring me back to a
point before one of my applications stopped
working. a windows pc has a similar restore capability of its registry....
unfortunately, the restore did nothing like that,
and only lost my rss feeds, location data,
and i assume some other things i didn't notice yet.
the restore function has quite limited capabilities
in case of system problems... it will lose data that was entered after the last backup was done, and it will not restore system capabilities for broken
applications.
it is a good idea to do frequent backup in case you
need to reflash or update your os, but don't use this backup as a "system restore" function, because it won't do it.
