Dear All,

let me start this thread for those who want to keep track of ported apps for the newly released IT2006 OS. Since the maemo page does list only very few maemo2.0 (ie. 2006-ready) apps, and some discussion threads do mention only repository links, it would be cool if you could post here homepages or links of ported apps for those who do install things offline (ie. NO repository list would help them!).

Some basic stuff to track down first would be:
- CPU/Mem load applet
- shell
- BT stuff for the Keyboards
- Plucker reader
- some KeyRing app.
- Calendar

Thnnx for your support!!!
mrn.

What's wrong with the 2006 OS Maemo Application Catalog (http://maemo.org/maemowiki/ApplicationCatalog2006)?

i see your question. as i wrote, i do not have wifi connection (and i am sure lots of us does not always have), therefore would like to install things from deb packages. ...and right now, when starting with osso-xterm... they only have the 0.12 version as deb file, but not the 0.13. just check it ;)

gnuite, or somebody, can you pls. mail me the 0.13 version of osso-xterm?

thnx a lot!!!!!!!

Gnuite meant what is wrong with using the Application Catalog as a list of available applications, rather than having a seperate list here? The catalog lists alternative download links where there are available. If you come across one that isn't on there, edit the wiki,

As for Xterm, there is a 0.13 deb listed at http://maemo-hackers.org/apt/pool/main/o/osso-xterm/ but as I used Application Installer to install it I can't comment of it's suitability.

The Maemo app catalogue is far from complete. I think some developers have lost their initial enthusiasm and are just poking around now... I managed to find an .armel version of Sodoku by looking around in the authors directory structure of his site. *whistles innocently* Worked like a charm but I haven't seen it posted anywhere.

Add it to the ApplicationCatalog yourself? Sub-optimal, I know.

In fact, I'm rapidly coming to the opinion that the wiki is no longer the best place for an app catalogue as it doesn't scale and is behoven on editors for consistency, rather than it being mandatory.

Perhaps http://www.maemo-apps.org/ is the future, or just something like the ApplicationRepositories (http://maemo.org/maemowiki/ApplicationRepositories) page and then use the Application Manager to find and install apps.

No-one uses a Debian application catalogue, after all ;-)

Flegg: The Maemo.org repository list is great; I just saw you updated it last, heh. :) So far as the Wiki, I didn't want to point to someone else's files. The reps will be great if kept up to date and keep track of dependencies.
