I need to know which memory speed I have to buy to match the bandwidth of the nokia 770... 7-8MB/s ? 12MB/s (also known as 80X cards). Where's the bottleneck ? I'm thinking on a 2GB card minimum.

Obviously I don't want to waste money buying a 80X card when the nokia 770 cannot match its speed.

Thank you

It does not matter you wont see a diference get the cheaper one.

Just buy the cheapest card you can find.
The 770 uses the older 7-pin (1-bit serial) interface and a maximum 20 MHz clock, the theoretical maximum transfer rate of the interface is 2.5 MByte/sec. Having a fancy new card that supports 52 MByte/sec won't help.
RS-MMC, MMC-Mobile, Single Voltage, Dual Voltage, doesn't matter, they all work with the 770.

It is still good to buy faster one (newer MMCmobile type with more pins) if you plan to use it in something else too (camera, usb reader, other PDA) and prices are similar. But yes it does not help for N770. The Kingston dual voltage MMCmobile 2GB looks good and is not more expensive (here and now) than other slower RS-MMC with older 7 pin interface (Sandisk RS-MMC).

Just finally bought 2GB Kingston MMCmobile. Speed in N770 is exactly the same as my older Sandisk 1GB RS-MMC (= ~1.4MB/s) but at least it is faster in my USB card reader. Sandisk 1GB does 1.5MB/s, Kingston does 3.5MB/s.
