View Full Version : N900 partitions and filesystems
Does anyone know the partition and filesystem layout for the N900? Is there, like the earlier tablets, still a smallish jffs partition for root and home, then a separate FAT32 32GB partition?

The 32GB eMMC is apparently broken up into ext3, FAT32, and swap. Swap should be 768MB, ext3 and FAT32 sizes may be user-configurable, but I'm not sure. The JFFS2 NAND is now using UBIFS and should be 256MB (may be 512MB, though).
Quim mentioned in another thread that people shouldn't be worried about application space, though.

Which might mean that the ext3 partition is transparently added to the rootfs.
Only a guess mind you.

Or that he meant 1GB ought to be enough.

The use of unionfs or the like wouldn't surprise me, but it's still a first for Maemo.
Btw, did we get our dmesg dump already? :D
