A popular magazin in sweden has made a video of n900 with Klas Ström, Scandinavian product manager at Nokia.
They are talking swedish and the n900 is swedish, but i thought this video was very good.
I would add subtitles but i donīt know how to download the vid, help anyone?

flash video check fail.
Strange, tested the link several times.
According to the FAQ you need at least flash 10.0.32.18 and shockwave 11.5.1.601 installed.

Yes, it has Digital Compass, A-gps and gps. All that we can wish for!
Havenīt been this exited about a phone since hm, never!! :D

Iīm working on that too, trying a couple of apps that can record video on the screen to avi format.

Thanks for the link, however i canīt make it to record.
Tried 3 different programs already and noone of them works.
Seems that they have made a player thatīs very difficult to copy from :mad:

I recorded screen here (no audio, wave out crashes recorder app) .. Its not fully 25fps more like 15 now. Its watchable.. Divx codec

Its interesting to see that the nordic alphabets are not accessible via the Fn button, like presumed earlier. Instead the down and up keys are hidden behind the FN menu, thats strange for us Nordic users. Maybe I won't be using those keys too much anyways, except in the terminal of course :).
EDIT: I have to say that this is the best review so far, it really shows the device very closely :)

Interesting video, and the first time I've seen the new Application Manager with the Media Player-lookalike frontend icons.
Speaking of Media Player, I'm not sure I like the way the volume slider temporarily takes over the bottom bar, where the position indicator usually is, as I think the two could get confused. I think the volume slider short appear vertically above the volume button when pressed.

Is there any truth to this compass business? I don't recall seeing it in the specs, but it may have been revealed in early fremantle builds.

it DOES have 1GB of ram^^ 256mb ram and something about 700mb virtual ram^^
i've downloaded it also with orbit. can't open it. tried to upload to youtube. youtube says the format is not supported...

No it doesn't, it has 256 MB of RAM and a 768 MB swap partition.
Edit: he specifically did not say 1 GB virtual memory, he said RAM.

maemo.nokia.com: "Up to 1 GB of application memory (256 MB RAM, 768 MB virtual memory)". Yes, RAM just means Random Access Memory, and that could technically be anything, but it is not used when talking about swap.
I agree it doesn't mean he's guaranteed to be wrong about both features, but it does mean we should take his understanding of things with a grain of salt.
Note that my quote is also wrong in another way. The correct specs are 1 GB virtual memory, 256 MB RAM, 768 MB swap.
I have read about the digital compass from other sources on internet, and other vids. However we canīt be sure until someone actually tried it.
And that is strange to me, i mean for 2 days people visiting nokia world have gotten plenty of time to play with the n900. However almost 90 % of all videos alway shows the same stuff. (desktop, multi-T,video playback and so forth) I hope a "real" techie gets some hands on time with it soon.! We need answers!

Obviously the reporters should be better at it, but when I tried out the N900 I couldn't come up with anything smart to do and just did what we've seen in the videos. Something about the pressure of being in a hurry and not really being familiar with the UI messes with your head.

Well, it will soon be available on market here in sweden, i think 1 october or that week. Be sure iīm going to buy one immediately!
hmm he is nokia rep, its stupid for him to be wrong.. yeah also realise that all the video try the same things.. which sucks.. try to make a call, video edit, other games, gps navigation, etc2.. and confirm the specs ;/
